FINISH LABOR

After all interior walls are installed, finished and painted, the finish crew can begin their work.  Log homes usually require a fair amount of custom trim work.  One can expect a 3-4 man crew to spend about a month on the average home (1800-2200 square feet).  A one-man crew will usually take several months.  Finish labor may cost $3 - $6 per square foot.  This price includes no materials, but does include the labor to perform the following tasks:

  1. Install all interior doors, stain or seal, and install hardware and trim

  2. Install all baseboards upstairs and downstairs

  3. Install all interior snow blocking between top of logs and bottom of T&G

  4. Install all trim at tops of studwalls under second floor

  5. Build interior rails and finish out interior stairs

  6. Install hardware on exterior doors, and screens on windows

  7. Bleach and clean all interior/exterior wood products

  8. Stain or seal all interior log walls, beams and T&G ceilings and deckings

  9. Spray exterior preservative on all exposed wood products

  10. Hang cabinets and install countertops

  11. General clean up of materials and waste
